A Blanket of Strength: From My Heart to His

Some moments in life hit different. and this was one of them….

While scrolling through Facebook, I came across a mother's post about her infant undergoing open-heart surgery. Immediately, I felt the pain from my own open-heart surgery just months before. As a mother I couldn’t imagine her pain for her little one.

Though we were strangers, our experiences connected us. Without a second thought, I reached out, offering to create a special piece for her little guy.

Currently in a design phase that makes me think of Crate & Barrel, Just like some of my most recent ones this blanket was designed both with a modern feel keeping comfort in mind. Incorporating stripes, checks, and abstract patterns, the piece became a blend of style and warmth. True to everything LoveJaded, it featured an element of the unexpected, making it not just a blanket, but art from the heart.

I’m so happy to report that baby boy is doing well, has since turned one and is all warm and cozy with his new blanket. This experience has reinforced the power of connection, but also a reminder of why I started crocheting to begin with - art therapy.

To the courageous mother who shared her story: thank you for allowing me to be part of your journey. And to our young heart warrior: continue to shine brightly.
